We upcycle our fabric scraps

12. 7. 2021

When making the upholstered parts of chairs and armchairs, we use kilometres of high-quality, often stunningly beautiful fabrics. Because of the design of our products and the cut of fabric they require, it is not possible for us to ensure this process is waste free. We are aware of this fact – and take it seriously – also in terms of our aim to introduce a zero-waste concept in production.

Paradoxically, a solution to this situation came during the very turbulent year 2020 when we, too, were hit by the consequences of the lockdown and had to face the lack of new contracts. At that moment, Jitka Hurábová made the best of her experience from a previous crisis and found new work for our seamstresses. Bags, pencil cases, cases and sacks are now manufactured from the remnants of leather and premium fabrics. Larger pieces of fabric found new application in the BLOCK kit. This is a totally new business that has a potential for the future and reflects our corporate values: the humanization of offices, the development of creativity and the effort not to waste resources.

All the fabrics used for bags, cases and pouches come from clippings and cuts that could be labelled as "production waste". We believe that these small gift items will make our business partners and customers as happy as they are making us.

We rely not only on design, but also on sustainability!
